David Walliams’ ‘World’s Worst’ series continues with The World’s Worst Parents. This series has been immensely popular with young readers and this new one will probably prove to be the same. From a father with VERY smelly feet (Peter Pong who names his daughter Ping) to a mother who loves to boast (Belinda Brag) and one who loves dogs more than her daughter (Posy Pooch), each of these parents is excruciatingly awful.

The humour is constantly slapstick and the stories are a bit the same but a great strength of the book is the visual content, with bright colours, cartoon-style illustrations and exaggerated and embellished font to add emphasis. One page unfortunately has mauve typeface on a dark grape background which makes it very difficult to read and on page 84, Brian’s dad is called Brian instead of Barry, but minor mistakes aside the book is great fun.
