Our little pig lives in a family of pigs. They all go for the red team. His dad, his mum, his big brother, his twin cousins. And his grandma. Even his guinea pig goes for the red team.
But this little pig has a secret. He doesn’t like the red team. He secretly likes the blue team! At games he’s always more interested in the blue team. He really wants an autograph from the Blue’s number one player. He wishes he could wear blue.
One night he sits in bed and secretly wears his blue team scarf and looks through his blue team fan cards. Of course, he keeps these hidden under his bed with his blue team mascot. He can’t tell anyone. They won’t understand.
On the night of the final, the two teams are red and blue. They all gather around. It’s very close. With only moments to go, the blue team scores! Yes, he squeals! Oh dear, now they all know! Out comes his secret, his heart belongs to the blue team.
This fun story is about acceptance. Not being afraid of just being you. If other people like something it doesn’t mean you have to as well to fit in.
I love the big bold illustrations filling the pages from corner to corner. Colourful and bright, it ends on a lovely note, and it’s not red or blue.
