This is a fun book where four junior detectives get involved in a series of mysteries relating to computer games and space travel and possible alien invasions. It has lots of twists and you get to solve the mysteries yourself. The four detectives are Olivia who is a computer whiz, Jake who is a girl and really tough, Julius who is more creative, and Buster McPaws who is only 1 foot 6 in height because he’s a cat detective.
In Murdle Junior 2 there are lots of clues and codes and puzzles to solve and you use a deduction grid to work out each mystery – who did it, where, and how, and sometimes why they did it, their motive. Each detective has eight mysteries, and they start off easy then get a bit harder, then there’s a series of mysteries where they all join up together.
This is a really fun book that combines reading and puzzles, and I think readers who like mysteries will love it. The characters are interesting, and I would like to read other books in the Murdle series, such as Sleuths on the Loose. This one is all about space and technology and futuristic things, like sci-fi. I hope they do one with mythology or dragons or spooky themes like witches next. I recommend Murdle Junior 2.
