Molly lived in the jungle with the other monkeys, dancing, playing and being silly among the treetops.
But Molly has a secret the others don’t know: she is actually a lovely big, roly-poly, pink pig. And somehow, no-one seems to notice.
Everything changes when Norman, the head monkey, calls a meeting to share troubling news. There has been a ‘strange, non-monkey scent’ drifting through the treetops. ‘An imposter!’ the monkeys gasp. Suddenly, everyone is suspicious, eyeing one another nervously.
Norman announces three tests to prove true monkey-ness: eating a banana like a monkey, communicating in the monkey way, and – perhaps the easiest of all for a TRUE monkey – swinging effortlessly from vine to vine.
Molly knows she isn’t a monkey, but she’s determined to try. Will she pass the tests or be discovered for who she really is? Readers will have to find out.
From the creator of Sleep Tight, Disgusting Blob, Huw Aaron delivers another playful, funny adventure full of energy and charm. The expressive illustrations capture the humour brilliantly, especially Molly’s frantic attempts to blend in and the monkeys’ exaggerated reactions. It’s a light, giggle-filled story about identity, belonging and trying your best – even when you don’t quite fit the mould.
