Stick Insect is in love. He has met the most beautiful stick insect he has ever seen. He woos his new sweetheart with all sorts of wonderful promises. Come with me, he says, and we will ‘surf the ocean waves’, ‘skate arm in arm’ and even ‘race a speeding motorcycle with the breeze in our feelers.’ With no response from the object of his desire, he becomes even more romantic, suggesting a night at the movies with popcorn, but still no answer. What could be wrong? Butterfly knows but Stick Insect isn’t listening.
I’ve fallen in love with this book. And with Stick Insect. He’s tall and skinny and green and thinks up such wonderful things to do. I do hope he finds his true love.
