This is one of those books that you need only to look at the cover and you are sucked in. The Goddess of Earth is waiting to tell you her story. You know you must turn the pages.

You meet Gaia, the mythical ancient Greek goddess who created the Earth, the universe, and all the space around it. You even meet her husband, Ouranos, who is the head of a group of ancient gods who call themselves The Titans. Gaia travels through the land, sending waterfalls tumbling over cliffs and creating the tides that slosh onto the shore. She even lets loose all the animals and watches as they make Earth their home. But it’s when she creates mortals to live with her, the trouble begins. And sadly, the gods are not on her side. But Gaia will never stop fighting for what she believes in.

This book is written and illustrated by two remarkable young sisters, Imogen and Isabel Greenberg. They’ve sent us a very strong and rather poignant message on the last page of this book asking us to join ‘the sound of millions of voices, calling for a better world’.
