In this guiding, compelling, and beautiful book Barry Jonsberg takes you on a journey where we meet Morgan who is beginning to question what type of person he’s supposed to be – that of who he is in his father’s eyes or that of his best mate.

Basically, whenever something is happening (for example, graffiti on the school board), I had to go to the next chapter and continue like, literally nothing can stop me. Personally, I find that this is the type of book that’ll be in my mind rent free, considering that it reminds me of myself and my younger brother.
It made me gain this feeling of being seen during my darkest moments where I feel like life isn’t worth living if there’s nothing to fight or live for.

I highly recommend Darkest Night, Brightest Star to young readers and book clubs.
