This book is incredible! Dark Heir is the second in a trilogy from C S Pacat, the first being Dark Rise. It follows the mysteries and magic of a 19-year-old boy named Will and his handful of allies and friends on his dark journey.

The light side has evaded the dark for many years but the Dark King, Sarcean, has returned in the body of Will along with many of his own dark secrets.

There are some dark and mature themes in the book, however, it still enticed me into their world of magic and myths. Pacat does an amazing job of describing the past of the characters and captured me from the very first sentence.

Although I did prefer the first book, Dark Rise over Dark Heir, and I usually don’t read books like this, once I started it, I simply couldn’t stop. I would highly recommend this book to teens and adults alike.
