Weir’s mum has a new job at the animal hospital. This is very exciting as she brings home sick animals that need love and care. They help Kenny the Koala’s sore ear heal and bottle-feed a baby goat.
At school, Miss Franklin, Weir’s teacher, has a new project for the class. She wants the students to work in pairs to make a short film about FRIENDSHIP. This sounds exciting and even more exciting for Weir when Bella asks him to be her partner. After school they start brainstorming but somehow the ideas just aren’t coming. Luckily, Mum comes home with a new house guest: Joey, a baby kangaroo! He’s hurt his foot when he was trying to find his mum. Now Weir has a great idea. Let’s film Joey!
Well, they filmed Joey eating Fido’s food (Fido’s the dog) and snuggling in his bed, and stealing Blockhead’s toys (he’s the noisy parrot). This was a fun movie but nothing to do with friendship.
Dad wasn’t any help either. He just kept telling his Dad jokes like …
What do you get when you cross a kangaroo with a sheep?
A WOOLLY JUMPER!
With a family of animals and a hilarious dad, and lots of crazy pictures, this book is a laugh a minute.
