Salute to Sophie Godwin for this inspiring cookbook that will truly spice up your world.

Drawing on her extensive expertise as a food writer, chef and most of all, as a veteran lover of new and enticing cuisines, Sundays is Sophie’s first cookbook and delivers an exciting foray into a world of complex flavours: salty, tangy and sometimes even spicey!

Sundays introduces 100 plus recipes incorporating ingredients and ideas from chefs and international cuisines, including Mexican, Sicilian, Chinese and Middle Eastern. Some of my favourite dishes included Kinda Pasta Alla Norma (a Sicilian Pasta); Malayasian Wedding Salad;and Sichuan Style Aubergines.

What makes this cookbook such a winner is the diversity of recipes on offer. For example, there are simple recipes to try after a big Saturday night out such as the hangover burger. Or there is a range of brunch dishes, or more elaborate three-course feasts.

There are even more reasons Sundays wins out. It’s practical with loads of ideas for preparing ahead and storing food; the ingredients are readily available (caveat except for two);AND you can interchange ingredients (and use what is in your fridge) without affecting the flavour of a dish.

Although 70 per cent of the recipes are vegetarian (making it more economical), there are plenty of meat and seafood recipes to try. Finally, there are some beaut recipes for making your own jars of Salsa Macha, Pickled Chilli or Seeded Granola.

Sundays celebrates the best day of the week for cooking, eating, relaxing solo or with friends. It will become your new best friend!!!

Sophie worked in house at BBC Good Food as a cookery writer for 3 years and have written over 300 recipes for the brand, including four cover stars which can be found online.
