Pat Cummins, current captain of the Australian test cricket team, is a superstar of the sport. With a new book released about him this month by RON REED, we get an inside look at this champion of the game.

Captain Pat explores his life from his cricket beginning to first donning the Baggy Green through to his recent rise to captaincy. To start you off, here are five things you might not know about this highly respected Aussie cricketer.

FIVE THINGS YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW

When he was four years old Pat lost the tip of one finger when his older sister slammed a toilet door on him while he was trying to share lollies with her. Ouch!

Pat and recently retired tennis star Ash Barty are among each other’s biggest fans because, he says, ‘We see the world very similarly.’

As a boy Pat developed a bad temper because he usually couldn’t beat his two older brothers in fiercely contested backyard matches. At least according to one of them, Matt.

Pat is the most prominent face of Cricket For Climate, an initiative promoting climate change action through the sport, and is also a generous supporter of charity.

He is a fan of red wine, having been introduced to it and educated about it by legendary Australian fast bowler Dennis Lillee.
