Percy Jackson has been offered his second of three recommendation letters. This one is from none other than a major goddess, the torchbearer, the star walker, the night wanderer, the disturber of the dead, the triple goddess … Hecate! But to earn it he has to pet-sit her polecat, Gale, and hellhound, Hecuba, over Halloween. Easy, right? Well, that’s what he thought. But now he’s not so sure.

Percy got his friends Annabeth and Grover to come and help with this job. They got settled into the seemingly endless mansion, and started to get to know the terrifying and fussy animals. The trio was warned to leave everything as it was, but while Percy and Annabeth are at school, Gover couldn’t resist having a sip of a harmless looking strawberry milkshake. Next thing they know, the house is in ruins, the pets have escaped, Grover is knocked out and they have no hope of completing their task. But they can’t give up now. They set out to find a Greek hunting hellhound and a witch polecat. Will they find the pets? Will they fix the house? But most of all, will they get the letter?

This is an amazing book and fits right in with all of Rick Riordan’s other books. I can’t wait for the next book.
