When you’re young and you
learn to crawl,
to sit, stand, to throw a ball.
You learn to talk, to dance and roll,
to jump, to swing, to score a goal.
There is much to learn about as we grow. From flying a kite to singing songs, baking yummy things or playing a musical instrument. There’s tying shoe laces, climbing all sorts of things and learning numbers.
But learning is not always easy. It might take a few goes to learn how to make a kite fly. We will make squeaky notes before we can make nice sounds and it takes practice to get that ball into the net. Sometimes not being successful first up can make you really cranky or even send you to tears!
But …
Mistakes are part
of learning, too
‘You’re good at that,
can I watch you?’
This story teaches us that it’s okay if first you don’t succeed. It’s about persevering and even helping each other to learn something new. The message is a meaningful one, wrapped up in a positive and uplifting story with easy rhythmic language making it fun to read aloud.
