Revolve is a contemporary romance and the third book in the ‘Off the Ice’ series. This recent edition comes with special sprayed edges.

The story follows partygoer and hockey captain Dylan Donavan, and passionate Olympic figure skater Sierra Romanova.

Sierra has endured a life-changing accident that now triggers anxiety attacks every time she steps onto the ice. After her skating partner leaves her for someone else, she decides to compete again, reclaiming the spotlight – with the unexpected help of a hockey player.

Dylan faces slim chances of making the NHL draft after being kicked off his team for failing a drug test, but he’s determined to repair his reputation. As he tries to keep his life revolving around the ice, and Sierra seeks a new skating partner, the two find themselves needing each other for very different reasons.

I loved the contrast between Sierra and Dylan. The author does a great job of pairing the easygoing, playful Dylan with the high-strung, perfection-driven Sierra. I especially enjoyed their bickering, which adds sharp, entertaining banter throughout.

That said, the plot feels very similar to the first book in the series, Collide, and also echoes common tropes in other hockey romances. This made me read a bit slower, hoping for a more unique storyline.

Still, it’s an enjoyable, easy read with strong character development. I recommend it to fans of Hannah Grace’s Icebreaker and From Lukov with Love by Mariana Zapata.
