Here’s another animal picture book with a difference. It invites us to slow down. And that is how I feel as I turn the pages. It invites us to go outside and watch the magic that is happening. The busy bees in our garden, the spider repairing her web, mummy and daddy birds feeding their babies. Catching a magical rainbow after the rain and hopefully marvel at the sun flowers as they turn to follow the sun. At night, check out the moon waxing and waning. And, if you’re lucky, catch a shooting star across the night sky.
There are 50 wonderful nature stories in the pages of this book. Each page is so beautifully illustrated in a warm, gentle and old-fashioned way with just enough information for the children that you want to linger and suck up the magic. My wish is that this book will help the children of today to slow down, move outside, and stop, watch and listen for the magic around them.
