This would have to be the most thrilling dinosaur book ever! Simon Chapman, a real-life adventurer, invites you to imagine what it would have been like to be the first person to discover dinosaurs. To be with the team of Roy Chapman Andrews in the Gobi Desert in 1923 when they unearthed the first fossils of the velociraptor or ‘dinosaur bird’; or later in 1991, with the American palaeontologist William Hammer, whose team members unearthed dinosaur bones in Antarctica which turned out to be a frozen crested lizard that was seven metres long! He was nicknamed Elvisaurus, as his crest looked like the quiff of Elvis Presley.

As well as all this excitement, every page is filled with more fascinating information, some of which is attached as small books on the pages that beg you to open them. There are also flaps to lift to view the innards of dinosaurs and a terrifyingly toothy pop-up of a tyrannosaurus rex!

A must for every dedicated dinosaur lover.
