Deep down in the Amazon,
there are creatures short and long,
speckled ones and stripy ones,
small or big and strong.

There are animals who come out at night like the wise old owl and others who are awake all day. There are scary ones like the savage jaguar and the king vulture and others who are happy vegetarians. There are monkeys in the trees, sloths hanging from the branches and others peeping out of deep hollows. There’s one with a very long sticky tongue and others with funny noses and curly tails.

Every page is packed with these Amazonian animals romping and rolling and having lots of fun but watch out, some might be a little dangerous.

Written in rhyming verse, this is a perfect book to be read aloud to the young ones, whether they are in a group or tucked up in bed with you. And, because there’s a list of all the names of the animals in the back of the book, it’s a wonderful introduction to some o f those animals in the Amazon.
