Henrietta, the Greatest Go-getter by Martine Murray
I’m Henrietta, the greatest go-getter. I like chocolate ripple cake and cuddles. I don’t like pickles or whingers, and I plan to be Queen one day. I’ve been to the Wide Wide Long Cool Coast of Lost Socks. Have you?
Henrietta spends a lot of time thinking. Thinking about absolutely everything. There is a lot going on in her life. Her mum is having a baby, she’s starting school, she’s meeting new friends and having her first sleepover. I don’t want to give away too much, but Henrietta is very adventurous and her books are based on mysteries and discoveries.
My favourite part in Henrietta and the Perfect Night is when Henrietta gets new family members because it was unexpected – and I loved the ending. I also enjoyed this book because Henrietta was always using her imagination and seeing the bright side of life.
The illustrations, which were drawn by the author, Martine Murray, are really funny and they help readers to uncover the plot. In Henrietta, the Greatest Go-getter, Henrietta helps a creature called a Rietta that has lost its spots. She also helps the greatest living slob in the entire world who’s lonely, and she helps a fairy in love … oops, I’ve said too much!
Henrietta’s stories are perfect for curious children and anyone with a curly imagination. The books are amazing, and I wish they could go on and on but, sadly they don’t. Kids who like to have a laugh will enjoy them.
