Our first timeline is 1917. Mizza Bricard is only 16 but working hard to make something of herself in the fashion world. She hopes to be so successful that people will remember her name for a long time. Through endless years and diligence, she will finally become the person who is known as a luminary.
In 1970 Astrid Bricard, aspiring fashion designer, has arrived in New York to pursue her dreams. Here she meets, falls in love with, and becomes the muse to Hawk Jones. When they are both invited to participate in the event of the season, showcasing her talents, she ends up mysteriously disappearing, leaving behind a white silk dress.
In the present day, in the French countryside, Blythe Bricard is the renowned daughter of a famous fashion muse of the 1970s, Astrid Bricard. But she has let go of that dream that her grandmother and mother had for a long time until now. However, fashion is in her blood and destiny has other plans. The question also remains, what happened to Astrid Bricard?
Lester transported me seamlessly between the three different worlds, depicting each of the times beautifully. The Disappearance of Astrid Bricard is highly recommended.
