High-flying commercial lawyer, Ruth Dawson, has agreed to look after a small town legal practice in Myddle, New South Wales, Australia, while a friend takes a sabbatical.
Victoria Baulderstone is worried that she hasn’t seen her 17-year-old daughter, Beatrice – known as Bea – for five days and the local police constable refuses to report her as a missing person.
A few days later, Wayne “Dash” Rogers is found dead from a gunshot. Ruth becomes involved and discovers the two incidents are linked.
This well-paced, cozy crime novel has an artfully-managed plot, well-rounded characters and dashes of humour.
