Ava Green has dealt with many challenges in her 28 years of life, including a cancer diagnosis. Now, heartbreakingly, the cancer has returned. Faced with the choice of gruelling treatment and potentially sacrificing what little time she may have left, or embracing the moment and making the most of every day, she decides to follow her dreams. However, when your dream has always been to have the ultimate picture-perfect wedding and you don’t have a groom, things get a bit more challenging. That is, unless you decide that the important part is the celebration with friends and family, rather than the happily ever after with a husband.
Once the decision is made that Ava will have a wedding, the plan gathers momentum. Her best friend, Amanda, sends the story out on social media and the response is overwhelming. It doesn’t take long before a women’s magazine wants to get in on the act. Just when Ava thinks things are coming together, photographer James Gable arrives on the scene. Can Ava start a relationship when she doesn’t have much longer to live and does James know what he is in for?
Meanwhile, her grief-stricken family are doing the best they can to cope and not only help Ava to achieve what she wants, but also support her when her health begins to fail.
Photos of You is a compulsive read and pure indulgence. You have an inkling of where the plot is leading you, but you just have to keep turning the pages so you can get there as quickly as possible. While the plot is based around a serious illness, the overall feeling you will come away with is uplifting and it will make you think about what you would do if you knew that every minute counted.
