Last Violent Call by Chloe Gong is an exceptional book that captures two exhilarating events that occur one after another, surrounding the events of Foul Lady Fortune. The two main characters, Roma and Juliette (also featured in the author’s previous book, These Violent Delights) embark on a thrilling journey to find the culprit behind a series of girls’ deaths. Solving this mystery only unravels other secrets and twists that end up to be interconnected. Roma and Juliette describe their quiet life after the events of the previous book. Investigating this mystery consists of romance, guns and suspicious experiments. Experiments, causing young girls to go berserk.

Whereas, Benedict and Marshall – the other two main characters through the second part of the novel – are on a week-long journey on a train, trying to find this evil-doer with the help of Roma and Juliette. However, a sudden murder occurs on the train causing panic and shock. Benedict and Marshall act as private investigators to continue the investigation to keep the training moving. As time is lost, so are lives. These two do what they must, to keep the trains on the track moving yet they find the murder to only get weirder.

This book pays great attention to detail and vocabulary to capture events for readers. I have read Chloe Gong’s previous books and am now a fan. I really enjoyed this novel and recommend it to anyone who enjoys action, mysteries and plot twists.
