Razor-sharp, utterly romantic and filled with swoon-worthy fun, Lizzy Dent’s entry into the Formula 1 romance scene is a smash hit.

We follow Chloe Coleman, one of the first female principles in Formula 1, and who is determined to prove herself. There is just one problem: a new driver who just happens to be her childhood crush. This is where Matt Warner enters the narrative. He’s a former champion who needs a comeback, following a crash that left his best friend and teammate in hospital. But as they spend more time together, their professional relationship starts to spark, and things could be leading to something more.

First of all, what I loved about this book was how fun and fast-paced it was. The writing style is punchy, snappy and will completely pull you in. I was flying through the pages. I’m not too familiar with Formula 1, so there was a chance that the setting could alienate me. But Dent manages to make all the descriptions and scenes grounded as well as fascinating. What helps are the two romantic leads that are the emotional anchor for this story.

From page one, Dent makes Chloet’s plight and character arc clear. I was rooting for her the whole way through. When it came to Matt, I love how much he communicates with Chloe. Their dynamic is exhilarating, realistic and kept me on the edge of my seat as it tethered on the edge of professional and romantic. The dual point of view structure was effective, as we got to see pining from both lead characters, which really ramped up the tension as well.

Drive Me Crazy will give you the best kind of romantic rush.
