The Melbourne Writers Festival has announced their 2019 Schools’ program, featuring over 70 events running from 2-5th September at State Library Victoria, the Wheeler Centre, Treasury Theatre and the Immigration Museum.
Noteworthy programs include ‘Growing up African in Australia’ with Maxine Beneba Clarke, Santilla Chingaipe, Nyadol Nuyon and Ahmed Yussuf; Growing up Queer in Australia with Benjamin Law, Nayula Gorrie and Nic Holas, and the environmental-themed Do Something About it featuring Lihn Do, Laniyuk Garcon, Elena Gomez and Sonia Nair. Other special guests include Tony Birch, John Marsden, Jenna Guillaume, Andrew Daddo, Will Kostakis, Alice Pung and Alison Lester.
