Netflix has announced they are adapting Kristin Hannah’s Firefly Lane into a 10-episode series, and they’ve recruited Katherine Heigl (Suits, Grey’s Anatomy) for the starring role.
Heigl is acting as executive producer, alongside showrunner and writer Maggie Friedman (Witches of East End).
.@KatieHeigl will star in #FireflyLane, a new series based on the beloved book, as Tully Hart: a force of nature still bearing the scars of a traumatic childhood whose saving grace is her best friend, Kate, with whom she shares an unshakable bond over the course of four decades pic.twitter.com/snnkhFJ5q4

Firefly Lane will be Kristin Hannah’s third novel to be adapted to the screen, after The Nightingale and The Great Alone. Firefly Lane follows the life of Tully Hurt, and the decade-spanning relationship with her childhood friend Kate. We don’t yet know who will be playing Kate, but it’s safe to say this one will probably be a tearjerker.
