2022 Danger Prize shortlist announced

Aug 2022

The 2022 Danger Prize shortlist has been announced at the BAD Sydney Crime Writers Festival.

The Danger Awards are now in their fifth year. They seek to recognise crime that explores Australia as context for stories about crime and justice.

Three members of the BAD Sydney Board reviewed all entries and selected a top six.

BAD Chair Sue Turnbull said, ‘The judging panel were deeply impressed by the quality of the entries this year. From thrillers and police procedurals to regional and rural noir. The books shortlisted for this award illustrate the diversity of a genre that has always had its finger on the pulse of contemporary issues and the Australian experience’.

The winner will be presented the Danger Prize Trophy and $1000 prize during this year’s BAD Sydney Crime Writers Festival on Friday 9 September.
