Melissa de la Cruz’s bestselling ‘Blue Bloods’ is getting a television adaptation, according to Deadline.
Entertainment company Awesomeness is behind the development of the series and has brought Jacquie Walters on board as executive producer and writer (Just Add Magic and Polly Pocket).
Walters posted on Instagram, ‘90% of the stuff I work on is never announced—so this is a fun treat to be able to share one of my projects with the world!! (And with Melissa’s many fans!) We are cooking up something GOOD for y’all, just wait.’
The ‘Blue Bloods’ series is set in New York City and follows a teenage girl called Schuyler who discovers she’s a member of an elite class of immortal vampires. When members of this elite society start dying, Schuyler investigates who and what is behind these murders. In turn, we learn that an evil breed of vampire has returned and it’s up to her to save them.
There are more than a dozen novels in the ‘Blue Bloods’ series beginning with the novel Blue Blood which was first published in 2006.
