Suzanne Collins, the acclaimed author of the popular ‘Hunger Games’ series, is set to release another novel in the franchise in 2025.

The upcoming novel, Sunrise on the Reaping, is the fifth instalment in the series and will readers back to the world of Panem.
The first novel in the series, The Hunger Games, was published in 2008 and took the world by storm, becoming a massive bestseller. Catching Fire and Mockingjay followed with equal success and followed on the story of Katniss Everdeen who competes in a televised battle against other young people in the dystopian country of Panem.
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is the most recent book in the franchise and is a prequel. The story is set 64 years before the events of The Hunger Games and follows 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow.
All the previous novels in the series have received film adaptations with The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, grossing nearly US $340 million at the box office in 2023.
Collins’ upcoming book, Sunrise on the Reaping, is another prequel and will be set 24 years before The Hunger Games . The story is set on the morning of the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games also known as the Second Quarter Quell. Notably we know the victor of these games was Haymitch Abernathy.
Lionsgate announced that Collins’ upcoming novel will also receive a film adaption.
