According to Nielsen BookData, the leading provider of search, consumer research and retail sales analysis services for the book industry, Alice Oseman’s Heartstopper Volume 5 has topped 2023 Australian Christmas bestsellers list having sold 12,300 copies in Australia last week.
Driven partly by the release of the ‘Heartstopper’ Netflix series last year, to date, Australian consumers have bought over 388,940 copies across Oseman’s ‘Heartstopper’ graphic novel series.

In second place is Australian author, Trent Dalton with his third book Lola in the Mirror selling 9,780 copies.
Third is Lee Child and Andrew Child’s The Secret, instalment 28 in the ‘Jack Reacher’ series, and New Zealand’s official Christmas #1 title.
Last year’s Christmas #1 title and local favourite Nagi Maehashi’s RecipeTin Eats: Dinner scores
fourth place this year selling a little over 9,000 copies.
Rebecca Yarros holds the next two spots with Iron Flame and Fourth Wing.
The late Matthew Perry’s memoir Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing is seventh. In eighth
position is Guiness World Records 2024.

In New Zealand, Lee & Andrew Child’s The Secret: Jack Reacher 28 topped the charts having sold
more than 2,600 copies in the same week.
