If you’ve been waiting your entire life to see Gollum haunt an old Guy Pearce, your time has come! The BBC have given us a glimpse of their upcoming three-part adaptation of Charles Dickens’ timless novel A Christmas Carol.

Featuring Guy Pearce as the festivity-hating Scrooge and Andy Serkis as the Ghost of Christmas Past, the trailer showcases a much darker vibe than previous adaptations, delving deeper into Dickens’ moral fable than ever before.

The series is set to air in Australia on FX Showcase, just in time for christmas.
