A Twitter user posted a video about a rare copy of Rudyard Kipling’s Kim from Cornell University Library’s Division of Rare and Manuscript Collections. The post prompted 9,000 retweets.

It shows the fore-edge painting on the edge of the pages of the book. When viewed at a certain angle it shows a fabulous hidden image.

This beautiful art is sadly is not likely to survive as it’s reported that only three people were known practitioners of the art. There were also no trainees trying to master the skills to keep it alive.
