Jane Harper has scooped the pool again by winning the Barry Award for Best First Novel for her book The Dry.
The Barry Awards are annual literary crime awards. They were established in 1997 and named for American critic and crime fiction fan Barry Gardner. Readers of Deadly Pleasures mystery magazine vote for the winners.
Harper adds this award to her shelf with the Ned Kelly Award for Best First Fiction and the Davitt Award for Best Adult Novel. As well as the Book of the Year at the Australian Book Industry Association (ABIA) awards and the UK Crime Writers’ Association (CWA) Gold Dagger Award.
