The sub-title of this book is ‘A guide to grief, loss and getting through hard times’. It’s specifically for young adults, although much of the information found inside is just as useful for anyone experiencing these feelings, no matter your age.
Grief is something we all have to begin to understand and deal with at some stage in our life. When it comes, it’s usually like a out of control train, driving through our lives and turning everything upside down.
This excellent book helps teens navigate the feelings of grief, sadness and like you’re not coping, helping them come to terms with their feelings and giving the tools they need to work through the them. Broken into bite sized chapters it’s takes you through step by step on a journey with subjects such as looking after yourself, owning your grief, listening to feelings, sleep, to blob or not to blob, dance like nobody is watching and dealing with ‘why me’.
Each chapter is indispensable, full of valuable information, advice, stories and tips and drawings. The book does not talk down to the reader, nor judge in any way.
I can’t recommend this book enough. It will become a reliable and sturdy friend of any young person grieving and be an essential navigating tool to help them through.
Go buy it. Buy more than one and have them to hand when they can help someone in need. It’s a beacon of hope.
