This is another scorcher from Australia’s Crime Queen. It’s a story that will have you on the edge of your seat in a fast paced, intense ride.
This story sees us in New York with the firefighting team of Engine 99. Remarkable as their job is, they are not your average team. The firefighters of Engine 99 moonlight as thieves, setting fires to distract from their burglaries.
When Ben, a member of Engine 99, discovers that his girlfriend and her son are missing, he begins to suspect that one of his crew had something to do with their disappearance. Enter Andy, an undercover investigator who goes undercover to find out the truth.
What I love most about Candice Fox’s books is the savvy way she portrays her characters perfectly to fit their persona and the narrative.
This was a great example of a good thriller. A well constructed plot combined with a compelling narrative with engaging characters. Highly recommended.
