ABOUT THE BOOK

For centuries, Farrow’s family – the Entente – have been magical advisors to the Queen. Their wisdom and foresight kept the Thirteen Queendoms in harmony. Until a new queen, Magrit, takes power, outlaws magic, and executes the Entente. Only Farrow survives, with her magic warped beyond repair. She can now use it only to fulfil the feeble wishes of commoners.

Since that day, Farrow has dreamed of revenge. The one way to reach the queen is through her son, Prince Mather, who is nearing the age when he must select a bride. When a special ball in his honour is announced, Farrow sees her opportunity. All it will take is a young woman named Cinderella who dreams of true love. With one night, one chance to reclaim her magic and destroy the queen, Farrow will stop at nothing.

BOOK REVIEW

Wish of the Wicked crafts a gripping narrative rich in character development, an enchanting location, and a homage to the everlasting themes of fairytales, offering a creative spin on a traditional genre. The story has a personal touch in its character development, romance, and the language utilised throughout the novel.

First and foremost, this book’s character development is excellent. Throughout the novel, Farrow, our courageous protagonist, experiences a stunning change. Her transformation from a motivated yet fragile little girl to a strong, self-sufficient lady is incredibly captivating. As a reader, I felt emotionally linked to Farrow’s trials and victories, which brought depth and realism to the novel. Furthermore, Danielle Paige’s language is both elegant and expressive. Her literary style vividly depicts the Thirteen Queendoms, transporting readers to a rich and intriguing universe.

This book is a great choice for book clubs. Its interesting character development, romantic undertones, and thought-provoking subjects provide plenty for discussion. Book club members will find lots to discuss and debate, from themes of fate and magic to character decisions and progress. The plot’s surprising twists give many possibilities for spirited debate and inquiry.

Danielle Paige has created a story that is both familiar yet delightfully different, making it a must-read for fantasy and fairy tale aficionados. It left me anxiously awaiting what adventures these individuals would have in the Thirteen Queendoms.
