My paints are waiting in their tray.
I wonder what to paint today.

I think I’ll start with something blue, the brightest blue tree frog I’ve ever seen. And followed by not just one frog but 17 more tree frogs. So many frogs need a tree! For that we’ll need some green.

Our little tree frog climbs the tree. Do you wonder what he will see? Now we’ll paint something yellow. ‘Sunflowers and birds with yellow wings.’

Now our tree frog wants to fly. Will something red help him? On I go lifting up branches, finding our one small frog underneath. Then unbelievably he meets a red balloon, whisked away on an adventure.

This is a most amazingly beautiful book. As we learn colours and how, if mixed, they can create other colours we find surprises on every page. We peek under flaps, then flaps within flaps, to find our little tree frog having a wonderful time, all on magnificently illustrated by Sharon King-Chai using the bright colours of the paintbox.

A truly wonderful book. You can return to it again and again and find something new. Don’t miss it. It deserves more than five out of five stars, that’s for sure.
