Now more than ever we must be conscious of what resources humans are taking from the planet. After all, everything has to come from somewhere. But have you asked yourself from where exactly? That is what Quinn asks himself when he faces his pre-ordained destiny as a Caller.

Callers summon objects and necessities that the citizens of Elipsom need. Need a new chair? A Caller will summon one for you. Want some fruit? Ask a Caller and it will be done. Coming from a long line of Callers – his mother is Chief Councilor of the Callers – Quinn knows his duty. Except, he cannot Call. Trying to hide his inability to conjure up an object is hard, especially when he is to be tested in front of his mother and all the Councilors. What Quinn does discover is that instead of Calling objects, he makes them disappear! Where did that paper he was just writing on go? Suddenly he feels incredibly nauseous and the world goes black.

Upon waking, Quinn is not in his bedroom anymore. What is this strange place and how did he get here? When Quinn meets a girl called Allie, she shows him what really happens when he and his fellow Callers summon an item. It is taken from another place. Can Allie show Quinn what is really happening before it is too late? After all, ‘nothing good comes from nothing’.

Part dystopian, part fantasy, part adventure, 100 per cent brilliant.
