Fresh, funny and utterly relatable, The Setup will be adored by readers who’ve ever felt a little lost and are looking to get back on track.

We follow fate – and horoscope – obsessed Mara Williams, who runs into a beautiful stranger moments after a fortune teller reveals that she is going to meet the love of her life. She believes that this is man and, determined to meet him again, Mara does everything she can to make sure that her destiny comes true. But the universe seems to have other plans, especially when a funny and kind guy named Ash moves into Mara’s flat. She soon learns that you can’t always predict your fate and, that maybe the only person in control of her destiny is herself.

I loved every page of this book. From the loveable main character, to the wit, charm and humour throughout, right down to the sweet and swoon-worthy moments of romance. A sweet love interest to make you blush, a delightful cast of supporting characters and a romantic seaside setting. The perfect ingredients for a wholesome rom-com.

But it’s so much more than a romance book. It’s about figuring out how to take control of your own life and change it. There’s a wonderful exploration on dealing with change and grieving what was once familiar to you. The prose is light, sharp and witty, making this a lightning fast read that packs a short yet sweet punch in a way that will make you connect with the story so much that you won’t be able to put it down. I swooned, I laughed, I cried but most importantly, I smiled.
