Fabio, the world’s greatest flamingo detective, arrives at his office one morning to discover an incredibly quiet day in his little town on the banks of Lake Laloozee. Gilbert. Fabio’s associate giraffe, is busy fielding inquiries wanting plumbers. Why would they be ringing Fabio? Why indeed?
However, Gilbert does have a surprise in store for Fabio and now is the perfect time to reveal it. Gilbert has acquired an old silver biplane from a stork who happened to fly it in that morning. The stork also gave Gilbert a quick run through on how to fly her and so with that knowledge and great trepidation, Fabio climbs aboard.
Unfortunately, a near disaster happens when they find themselves out of fuel and heading south. They are saved by Molly the lion, a mechanic from the local small village which also happens to be suspiciously running out of water. It seems that Fabio and Gilbert have flown straight into another detective adventure. They plan to solve this little mystery before departing.
Children will love Fabio. With his panama hat, black bow tie and keen powers of deduction, Fabio is the essence of a dapper feathered detective. Illustrator Emily Fox has enriched the book with a fabulous colour palate and some fun illustrations.
Peril at Lizard Lake is the third book in the ‘Fabio’ series and will be enjoyed by children who love mystery adventures.
