There’s a chapter called ‘Yuckarama, things that make you go Urrghh!’. And if you are a Roald Dahl fan then you’ll probably know what a bogglebox is. But do you know what a trogglehumper is? David Astle will tell you. And he’ll explain where the word ‘gargantuan’ comes from too. You can even learn that words like arachnophobia and claustrophobia come from Ancient Greece where they had spiders and small spaces. And ‘bronte’ is an old Athens word for thunder. So brontophobia is the fear of thunder.
