This is a fun, action-packed activity book that will keep your kids captive for hours. David Astle, who is a great lover of words, has filled this book with such awesome activities like a Monster Mash puzzle and another using ‘Body Bits’, pirate riddles and games such as ‘Bingo Lingo’. There’s a chapter called ‘Yuckarama, things that make you go Urrghh!’. And if you are a Roald Dahl fan then you’ll probably know what a bogglebox is. But do you know what a trogglehumper is? David Astle will tell you. And he’ll explain where the word ‘gargantuan’ comes from too. You can even learn that words like arachnophobia and claustrophobia come from Ancient Greece where they had spiders and small spaces. And ‘bronte’ is an old Athens word for thunder. So brontophobia is the fear of thunder.

If you have a young one at home who loves playing with words or needs something exciting to fill in the summer holidays, then this gargantuan book is for you.
