The Red Knight lost many faithful companions in the battle at the end of the third book in this series. But the enemy has merely retired to lick his wounds while yet more men and fantastical creatures flock to his banners. Soon he will make a move on a key magical strongpoint that the Red Knight must defend, as he must defend or reclaim many other such strongpoints, scattering his forces even further.

Even more frightening is another more powerful enemy, hiding in the shadows, who is striking the Red Knight’s allies across the sea. This enemy’s agenda is unknown but certainly bodes ill for the forces of Light and, with the power to overwhelm all who stand against him by turning them into mindless zombie warriors, it seems as though the Red Knight may have met his match.

If you haven’t discovered this epic fantasy series yet then you’re in for a treat. It has it all – noble knights and fair ladies, kingdoms at risk, magicians and necromancers, fantastical creatures, dragons, mighty armies and even zombie warriors. Cameron’s engaging characters and complex worldbuilding are a joy in which to immerse yourself.
