The sun is rising, and the birds are waking up. As the day dawns and the light gets brighter they all join together to sing in the Great Dawn Choir.
‘The magpies take the lead’ singing Ordle! Ordle! Ordle! There are the raucous cockatoos bobbing this way and that, swaying as they Caw, Caw, Caw! The noisy and excited rainbow lorikeets gather together on a branch with their sharp Tweet Tweet, Tweet! There are the clever lyrebirds who can copy everyone, singing all the tunes, a choir of their own!
As we turn the pages we laugh loudly with the kookaburras, chitter with the blue wrens, woo woo with the crested pigeons and make a long arh with the crows.
The Great Dawn Choir is a simple and beautifully illustrated book. Lots of fun is to be had making the sounds of each of the birds aloud as we turn the pages. Finally, we can all join in as the birds sing together. Just lovely.
