Pam, Nancy, Shalisa and Marlene have been friends for decades and should be looking forward to a comfortable retirement now their children are grown up. But, since their husbands – Hank, Larry, Andre and Dave – lost all their savings in a foolish investment, they toil through life, angry and disappointed, their marriages moribund.
When one of the husbands dies and his widow collects a large life insurance payout and announces her move to Florida, the other three women suddenly see a way to start a new life. What starts as a joke becomes a very real plan once they reach out to Hector, the local barber who moonlights as a hitman, to organise the hit.
Except it turns out that their husbands have retirement plans of their own, which may or may not involve their wives. In their games of double-crossing, who will come out the winner?
I laughed my way through this book. Amid the hilarious, over-the-topic antics and twists and turns, there are also some deeper musings on marriage, the choices and compromises we make for love, and growing old with the one you chose when young.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
A former television producer, Sue spent her career working for Canada’s major broadcasters on award-winning programming ranging from sitcoms, sports, game shows, music specials, award shows and lifestyle programming, to hard news with a good chunk of time spent on morning television.
In July of 2020 she had six weeks off between shows and having always wanted to write a novel she thought:
If not now, when?
Why not me?
The only thing I know for sure is if I don’t write it, nothing will happen.
